Assistant Patrol Leader
The Assistant Patrol Leader helps his
Patrol Leader in his duties. The APL works with the PL to plan patrol
activities, prepare for Troop meeting responsibilities, and maintain
communication with other patrol members. He must be at least of
Tenderfoot rank.
In order to be an effective Assistant
Patrol Leader, you should expect to attend nearly all troop functions.
You must help the Patrol Leader participate in the Patrol of the Month
award.
Note that the Assistant Patrol Leader
is a patrol position only and cannot be used towards rank advancement.
You should attempt to attend a Junior
Leader Training program. As a leader, you should set the example by
wearing the proper uniform, being on time, and communicating
effectively with both youth and adults. Live the Scout Oath and Law in
your everyday life. Show Scout Spirit in everything you say and do.
